So, You have a Cartridge Filter…

Cartridge Filters all require routine replacement. Knowing when to change the Cartridge will save you Time, Money, and Headaches. There are 3 easy ways to know when to change the cartridge. They are time, failure and pressure drop.

Most Cartridges are changed on a time basis. For a household filter cartridge the best rule is to change that cartridge every 3-4 months. This will cut down on the potential for Bacterial growth on the Cartridge that can cause odors and bad taste. Although, sometimes Cartridges cannot make it 3-4 months before changing.

Failure can occur when a cartridge loads up with Iron or Odor and starts to dump into the water making it worse than ever. Finally pressure drop, this can occur when a Cartridge is so plugged up with contaminants that the water cannot flow through fast enough to meet the demand.

Every site is different. Keeping a log to track the frequency of your cartridge changes will  remove all guess work from knowing when to change the cartridge. So, change that Cartridge and enjoy your great water!!!
