All this equipment and still I don’t like to drink my water.

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

We hear it now and then from customers. All of this equipment and still I don’t like to drink my water. Of course no one ever calls to say everything is great, do they? Usually this is caused by a high level of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS). TDS is usually made up of Sodium, Hardness, Chloride, Sulfate, or Alkalinity. Most water systems will remove Solids from water, and Softeners will exchange Sodium ions for Hardness ions, but they don’t lower TDS. In Residential applications the only practical way to lower TDS is with Reverse Osmosis (RO). RO is quickly becoming a household word because they work so well and require so little homeowner maintenance. By lowering TDS by 90-99% all that is left is great tasting water. Call us today for a free consultation and information on a Kinetico Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water System, and enjoy your great water.

easy as 1,2,3….

If you ever find that you have no water. You can determine if the blockage is in your Water Treatment System very quickly by putting it in bypass. Don’t do this if you have a Bacteria system because you will have to sterilize the plumbing afterwards. However any other contaminants will flush out of the plumbing very quickly.

With a Secondwind Water installed treatment system it’s as easy as 1,2,3 to bypass the system. Look for the ball valves labled 1,2,& 3. Open up ball valve #2 and you might hear a rush of water, indicating that the blockage has been bypassed and you have water again. If you don’t have water in the building yet you probably have bigger fish to fry, maybe a well pump.

If bypassing the system does give you back your water pressure, check for plugged cartridge filters or try putting your system through a backwash cycle. Give us a call if you still can’t fix the problem. We are always happy to help.
Remember bypassing a Secondwind System is as easy as 1,2,3. Enjoy your great water.

Give your Brine Tank a kick

Friday, May 15th, 2009

We can’t stress this enough so it bears repeating. Every now and then give your Brine Tank a Kick. That’s right KICK IT!!! Salt is a crystal and likes to clump together. The Salt in your Brine Tank is a very important factor in keeping your water clean. If the Salt sticks together in a clump in your Brine Tank it won’t dissolve the way it should and your softener won’t clean itself properly. The water will get dirty and you won’t be happy. So whenever you’re walking by your water softener stop and give the Brine Tank a Kick, and enjoy your great water.

Kinetico removes far more Iron than average Water Softeners

Monday, May 11th, 2009

Did you know that Kinetico removes far more Iron than average Water Softeners. The most commonly heard praises about Kinetico equipment are that they are Non-Electric, Highly Efficient in salt usage, or low in Waste Water. However, one of the really nice things about Kinetico Water Softeners is the ability to remove large amounts of Iron on a consistent basis.

They accomplish this because they clean themselves at the very moment that capacity is reached. The Iron doesn’t oxidize on the Softener Resin, which is huge. Then the System cleans itself using clean water. Then if you mix that with the benefits of Counter Current Regeneration and Kinetico has itself a winner.

So, if you are living with Iron Staining in your home don’t delay just call your local Kinetico Dealer and start enjoying your great Water today!!!
