So you own a Cartridge Filter did you realize that…

Monday, February 9th, 2009

Did you realize that Cartridge Filters are not all made alike. It all depends on the job you want to accomplish. For removal of Ferric Iron (which is the kind of Iron that wipes off) we use 5 Micron Cartridges. Either the Pleated Paper or Poly Spun type work nicely. The Cartridge will plug eventually and require replacement. How soon the Cartridge will plug is dependant on the amount of Ferric Iron and how many gallons of water are used per day. I will be commenting more on this subject later this week.

More about how Dripping Faucets cause Water System problems

In addition to causing Softeners to fail prematurely, a running toilet or drippy faucet can also cause big pressure drop problems. Filtering all that necessary water will cause Filters to become plugged early resulting in pressure drop and increased operating costs. If you are on a well you are paying a lot for all of that wasted electricity every time the pump comes on. So fix those leaks and enjoy your great water.

Dripping faucets can cause problem for water systems

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

Dripping faucets can cause problems for Water Systems by allowing hundreds of Gallons of good treated water to go down the drain, unaccounted for. When a toilet runs constantly or a faucet drips the flow of water is so low that a Water Softener can’t count the gallons passing through the contol valve. This can result in premature exhaustion of the system allowing Iron, Manganese, and Hardness to bleed through into the house. So fix those leaks and enjoy your great water.
